ESS & MAX IV. If you are not ready or not sure what you are looking for start here.
ForMAX beamline at MAX IV allows in-situ multiscale structural characterisation from nm to mm length scales by combining full-field tomographic imaging (TomographyA non-destructive technique used for constructing three-dimensional images from two-dimensional projections to characterise the internal structures of materials.More info), small- and wide-angle x-ray scattering (SWAXS), and scanning SAXSSuitable for investigating the structure of partially ordered materials and systems, and characterising structures at various length scales and fast measurement times.More info & WAXSAnalogous to X-ray Powder Diffraction (XPD), it is used for investigating partially ordered materials and providing information about crystallization processes.More info imaging in a single instrument.
The beamline operates at 8-25 keV, with a beam size at the sample of ≈ 1μm – 5 mm, depending on the mode of operation.
It is accessible for both general users (50%) and members of Treesearch (50%) through the MAX IV user program.
